When you’re cooking rice, just leave it alone. Don’t spend a lot of time checking on it even though it might be tempting to do so if you are not so competent in preparing it. Whenever you open the lid, you release both heat and steam, something that ends up messing with the ratio of water to rice. Just trust the process instead. Perhaps set a timer and don’t check on the rice until it goes off. You will be more likely to get that nice, delicious, fluffy rice you want in the end.
